Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Spokane Valley

Clean/modern rooms and super nice night staff. For amenities, a few things to note: gym was small and had no towels/water/disinfectant (a laundry attendant did give me pool towels); happy hour no longer includes alcohol (although can buy beer for half price from front desk); and kitchen had “keep frozen” items sitting in the hall all morning so eat the breakfast buffet at your own risk (usually the case anyway with buffets!)

Poor franchisee that probably should not be in the hospitality business to begin with. Shame on Marriott for allowing this leadership team to have a franchise and erode the Marriott brand. For perspective, I have owned my own hospitality business for 5 years. Halfway through the year, I have 45 nights at Marriott and am close to lifetime platinum. When I checked in, the room type that I reserved was not available. However, I can still go to the Marriott web site and book the same room type that is not available for tonight. When I put my room key on the lock, part of the lock fell off. Then they said that since they are a franchise, they do not have to honor the Marriott policy of providing elite members with a free bottle of water. For more perspective, I pay between 10 to 12 cents for good bottles of water at wholesale for the guests of my business. So, this management team thinks that degrading the Marriott brand and demonstrating their disdain for customers is worth the 20 - 25 cents of total cost savings. Won't stay here again.

I stayed at the Fairfield Marriott in Spokane Valley and had a great experience that I think other guests should know about. There’s a licensed massage therapist (Massage by Tawny) operating inside the hotel by appointment, and it was a fantastic service—professional, convenient, and a really nice addition to the overall stay. The only reason I even found out about it was by chance. I think this is the kind of amenity many travelers would genuinely appreciate knowing about ahead of time. A simple mention at check-in or a small flyer in the room would go a long way. Having access to an on-site massage option really enhances the guest experience, especially for people traveling for work or after long drives. Definitely a feature worth highlighting more.
